VU Duo+ Crashing - 04-August-2014, 21:04

My Vu Duo+ box seems to be crashing multiple times a day for some reason and has only started over the past couple of days....

I have CCcam 2.2.1 installed and this has been configured the same for months now so now box changes, no local network changes etc.

Below is a dump of the message file in the LOG folder:

I don't know if anyone can sense of this but the only thing that I spotted was the Nand Flash errors which do not seem right to me... probably a memory issue with the box itself?!

Can anyone help me on this.

Thanks

I have same issue with my solo 2! My only option was to run CCcam 2.1.4
While running 2.2.1 or 2.3.0 and i telnet into the box and use the "top" command i can see that cccam 2.2.1 and 2.3.0 run my Vu solo 2 cpu at 100% and it stopped me being able to access CCcam webui!
Give CCcam 2.1.4 a try

With my box it completely crashes to the point you cannot do anything and only the last channel shows on the panel at the front of the box!

I don't understand why this has started happening as I have been running 2.2.1 for a few months now with no issues at all but this has just started happening...
When CCcam is off the log file only registers a small about of debug data but when CCcam is on the file size jumps faster so I am thinking this is CCcam related...

Thanks for the info EsRgood4u, I will give an earlier version a try and see how I go :)

Hi

Could be worth reflashing your box with Vu+ Duo software?

Which image are you using on you Vu+ Duo? I have been using the Black Hole image for quite a while now. Regular updates are provided and the image is very stable.

I am on the latest Blackhole image, the crashing started on an earlier version on BH and the latest one....
I will give the other version of CCcam a try tonight and see how that goes.

Thanks for the suggestion :)

i have had 'crashes' too with my vu + duo, when watching HD channel with AC3 sound (Surround Amplifier below VU+) my box would freeze, nothing you could do but to manually switch off and on the Vu + duo. After while i came to conclusion that it was a heat problem, so i've put the dvd player inbetween the amp and my Vu and until now i did not have any problems, so you should maybe check the heat?

The flash memory could (almost) be full of the V+duo. Maybe you copied some music or video files by accident to the flash memory. check it

My box is on a TV stand and well ventilated, it does seem to run fairly hot but I am guessing that is normal for the Vu Duo+ boxes as my old DM800 used to be hot as well.
When I reboot the box the flash memory is around 70% full, I have hardly have anything else running, I even setup swap memory from my USB stick but this did not resolve either.

Dropping my CCcam version to 2.1.3 seems to have settled things down but I still cannot understand why the later version ran for months without issues then issuse started occurring recently....
I will keep any eye on things but stable so far.

Just to update everyone downgrading my CCcam version seems to have resolved the problem... I don't know why this has only just started occurring but after re-flashing, tidying up my CCcam config the downgrade was the only resolution for me.
