Which satellite receiver to get??? - 22-April-2012, 15:34

I had a dreambox 500s and i believe it served its purpose and now all of the sudden it powers up and no picture (tried everything possible) so i gave up on it..........I am planing to buy a new receiver (not necessarily a dreambox)

There are so many different receivers so which receiver do you guys recommend me to buy? my budget is about 100 - the moment i only got astra and hotbird but will get myself a motorised dish in couple of months' time.

For that budget I would still buy a dreambox a dm800 clone I have three and they are great for the price. If you want a cheap HD box then openbox is ok but limited in what you can do. its not open linux and there is no epg as such just now and next. good pic tho

clone dm800 or perhaps clone vu+. I would always recommend getting originals but when the budget is tight then the budget is tight.

Perhaps a tm800
