is it possible to flash image by linux box through null cable? - 03-November-2008, 19:11

hi, i have a dreambox 500s, last night its turn itself off when we were wathcing tv. i had 3.6 gp installed in the db. i checked the psu, i think its faulty, i bought a new one and try to flash again by null

i have a laptop which doesn't have null port, but i have a pc which has one com but its running my clarkconnect server for card sharing ,

now i am newbi in linux, bare with me plz, my Q is,

is there anyway i can flash image by my clarkconnect server through null??
what command?
waiting for somebody to help me out with this.........

Try to send the firmware version(find the tar.gz version for installation via telnet) you want to install with your ftp commander to the tmp folder of your receiver and then go by telnet to the tmp folder ,chmod 755 the tar.gz file and execute the file by typing its name.This way your box will be flashed.This is the way to flash your box only if your box responds to any ip.
