pli jade firewall

does any body use the firewall with the e1 plijade image with cs?
it seams to work very well when its on can not ftp to box.
it also blocks 14001 so cccaminfo can not connect.{pain really, but secure i suppose}
but i have a db in bedroom hopped of box downstairs with ip not dns in cline, but ive noticed when the firewall on the server downstairs is on, the bedroom box goes off but not for a good 30-60 minutes.
any ideas?

Not used it myself but in the var/etc folder there is file called firewall.user where you can specify ip addresses that are allowed through the firewall.
