Question setting ip address range (or sub-network) - 26-August-2008, 18:01

I would like to give access to my server only to a client whose ip address changes dependingon the DHCP of its sub-network (not possibe to avoid the DHCP)
Setting the Dreambox Firewall Manager I understood that is possible to define only single addresses , so, is needed to continually update the address or manually define the whole range of the sub-net.
Anyone knows a work-around for this? or simply I'm missing something about the syntax of setting the firewall?
thanks in advance

Thats why dyndns adresses is used instead of ip numbers.

LinuxPC Debian gboxserver 2.25 I=2 X=5
1xRelook400 FantacyNuemo 2.13.6 gbox 2.25
Dbox2 Philips 2x1 GLJ image gbox 2.25
Dbox2 Sagem 1x1 GLJ image gbox 2.25
Delete D-line from gigabox boxid 3017

But Dyndns ( or No-Ip ) is aimed to make stable the addressability of the server ( when its address is dinamically assigned by the provider, otherwise it can be a fixed value in the client C string).
My question is about to protect the server from accesses from unauthorized clients, in addition to user/password .

If the user and the passwd isnt in the cfg there is no access.

that's ok, but I would like to improve the protection by setting also the DB firewall on the server (blue->green(Extra)->Firewall Manager) to allow only clients belonging to sub-networks of my choice.
Currently I can do it by defining all the addresses one by one (firewall works fine by allowing them and blocking those not defined), but the configuration task is very long (any sub-net has usually 254 ip adresses)
My question is to know if there is a way for multiple (whole range of the sub-net) definitions with a single statement.
