dreambox 500+ legal canal digitaal stopped working

Hi all,

I have a setup with a dreambox 500, PLI, CCCAMD 2.1.0, for over a year operating properly. Somewhere in May 2009 Canal Digitaal send me a new card (I assume Mediaguard 3). I installed the new card and everything worked fine until June 28 2009. Since then the dreambox image is black. I have not done any config changes recently. The one un-encrypted channel transmitted from canal digitaal still works fine. My cccamd shows:
SECA card 00.xxx.xxx.xxx entitlements:
0000 MANAGMENT : 2009-06-28
006a CANALDIGITAAL : 2009-08-30
I have asked canal digitaal several times to re-register my card, no change. They keep saying something about receiver incompatibility and 2 days storage that the firmware would not do.

What exactly is my problem?
Do others have the same problem or are there others with a similar setup that still operate?

I hope somebody can help me out

in cfg set the seca handler for seca3
then ask online for card reactivation

Use CCcam 2.1.1 and activate the card again.
with CCcam 2.1.1 will the Managment updated

Thanks very much for your help. I got it operating again though I am only 99.999% sure what exactly did the job. I had CCcam 2.1.0 with CCcam.cfg 'SECA HANDLER: 1' on for hours without effect, then I switched to 2.1.1 with CCcam.cfg 'SECA HANDLER: 3' and instantly it operated. Coincidence my re-activate code just came by?

To help others I describe the problem and solution here. I think it applies to any system combining a Canal Digitaal card with CCcam.

Problem: Some (1-2) months after replacing the old Canal Digitaal card with the new Mediaguard 3 (SECA 3) card decryption of the canal digitaal card stopped working on my DM500+ (probably applicable to other systems running CCcam too) using CCcam. Looking at the card info / entitlements (http://<IP of my dreambox>:16001) one can see the line "006a CANALDIGITAAL : <date>". The <date> field is in the past effectively meaning your card was not updated like it should.

Solution: Add the line 'SECA HANDLER: 3' to your CCcam.cfg, restart CCcam, using the canal digitaal website re-activate your canal digitaal card (like you would if you have left your receiver off for a long time). Maybe you want to switch to the latest CCcam (For me 2.1.1 worked)

Have the same problem, and for some reason the card is not beeing recognized by the internal card reader from my 600pvr.

I had the card in a linux server on CCcam 2.0.10. I noticed that no EMM was beeing send, and when the management date was reached all went black.

I decided to put the card in my 600PVR which is running CCcam 2.1.1. Basically the CCcam.cfg file has very little info. My C: line to connect to a server, and I added the SECA 3 line.

Entered the card in the internal 600pvr reader (local) chip down, restarted the Cam. Reactivated my card online. Nothing happens.

When checking the CCcam:16001/entitlements page I see this:

card reader /dev/sci0
no or unknown card inserted

Why is this? Is this the reason my card is not updated?

he doesnt recognise your card
so he cannot update him if he dont see him

clean contacts, make sure card is in correct
then when he sees your card, use latest cccam with seca3 handler enabled
