ReelBox Cccam - 08-April-2009, 17:26

Greetings All

I am using a Reelbox AVG with 3 DVB tuners on the same cable input. I initially got 3 tuners for the following:

1 to record
1 for live viewing +
1 for PIP.

After buying the box it was realized that it could not natively handle several tuners sharing the same card (Irdeto). Additionnal softwares/reader were required to achieve this.

I got a Smartgo USB reader and installed Cccam 2.10.xx

Various forums pointed to the need to edit files named:
Cccam.cfg and/or CCusers.cfg.

Can someone give the complete directory access to where these files are located on the AVG? I only have FTP access to the box, making searches quite tedious.

In the end all I need is for the AVG to use the same smartcard across the 3 built-in tuners.

Can someone validate the plausibility of this scenario?

Feel free to supplement on the requirements and procedures

Excuse my limited knowledge and thank you for your time

E

Thank you Cardmagedon

I have located the file CCuser.cfg and added:

EMM THREADS : 2

How do I know if the USB reader is recognized by the AVG?
How do I restart CCCam?
Do I need extra software to manage the CCCam and map it to the internal tuners?

Thanks again for your previous prompt reply.

Thank you Cardmagedon

With you help I now have a CCCam menu option, that works great.
Also via http on port 16001/Entitlements.

I had read the posts on how to set up this reader.

The smartcard from the provider is properly recognized by the reader under CCCam menu. Thanks

card reader /dev/ttyUSB0
handled 0(0) ecms and 0(0) emms
Irdeto card
Caid 602 ACS 771 MCR
Cardserial 0004957371C03142A аPG (5827af)
Provider 00 0115e5
Provider 01 000200
Chid 0001 - date 0x7 valid 0x2
Chid 0002 - date 0xf valid 0x2
Chid 0004 - date 0xf valid 0x2
Chid 000F - date 0xf valid 0x2
Chid 0010 - date 0xf valid 0x2

If I understand correctly: the provider smartcard now goes to the USB reader instead of the CAM reader on the front panel of the AVG?

There is a CCCam-Cfg menu in "Installation"
It requests and suggest "your.cccam.org" "user1" "pass1"
etc etc

Do i need to configure these for internal use?

How do I configure CCCam to provide decryption to the 3 internal tuners?

Is there a need for each tuner to be a client of the internal CCCam server?
If so what URL to use? can it be the box IP adress? or loopback 127.0.0.1?

I live in Asia, does CCCam need a channels list for internal use?
If so can the information contained in channels.conf (current local ch list) be used for this?

Thanks again

Eric

Greetings All

If someone has any clues as how I can use CCCam to provide decryption for the 3 internal tuners of the AVG.

I assume CCCam needs to be setup as Server. Can the internal tuners be used as clients of the internal CCCam server?

Can the AVG both be Server and client of itself?

How to map the internal tuners (clients) to the internal CCCam Server?

All I want is the box to be able to record any channel while watching any other and to use PIP on top of that.

(It is rather unfortunate that the 1200.00EUR AVG does not support this natively. It defeats the main purpose of having multiple tuners).

Has anybody successfully implemented such scenario?

Regards

E

Thanks Cardmagedon

Here it does not work. CCCam sees the smartcard. How do I setup the clients and server.

I am sorry to ask, but I found that precise instructions of CCCam configuration and usage is not easy to find. Most of what I have found is incomplete at best.

here is a summary of what I did sofar:

Installed CCCam and a USB SmartGo reader. Reader recognized by the system and CCCam
Added EMM THREADS : 2 to CCuser.cfg.

Is anything else required?

Can you give me an example or your Cccam.cfg and/or CCusers.cfg. files for reference?

Again, how do I setup the internal tuners to use the CCCam instead of the AVG front panel CI modules?

Where do I put the smartcard? in the SmartGo or in the front CI?

Cheers

Eric

HI Again

Do I need these lines for internal use?
C: 22.dyndns.org 12000 user pass no { 0:0:1 }
F: user22 pass22 2 0 0 { 0:0:2 }{ } { } 22.dyndns.org

C: 23.dyndns.org 12000 user1 pass1 no { 0:0:1 }
F: user23 pass23 2 0 0 { 0:0:2 }{ } { } 23.dyndns.org

Are the C: lines the internal tuners as clients ?

This is my CCCam.cfg:
ALLOW WEBINFO: yes
WEBINFO LISTEN PORT : 16001
SOFTKEY FILE : /etc/vdr/plugins/cccam/keys/SoftCam.Key
AUTOROLL FILE : /etc/vdr/plugins/cccam/keys/AutoRoll.Key
STATIC CW FILE : /etc/vdr/plugins/cccam/keys/constant.cw
CAID PRIO FILE : /etc/vdr/plugins/cccam/etc/CCcam.prio
PROVIDERINFO FILE : /etc/vdr/plugins/cccam/etc/CCcam.providers
CHANNELINFO FILE : /etc/vdr/plugins/cccam/etc/CCcam.channelinfo
SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyUSB0
EMM THREADS : 2

I dont know if this is relevant:
Being in Asia, none of the channels in the CCcam.channelinfo file are listed. Should the channels of my provider be on this list? If so do you know the format so that I can include them?

I am missing something for sure. The smartcard is detected by CCCam but the tuners are not using it.

How do I direct the internal tuners to use the CCCam instaed of the internal CI module.

The CCCam server is running on the AVG and I need the AVG internal tuners to use the CCCam server. In other words both Server and Clients are on the same box. Is this possible?

Do I need an internet connection simply to share the local smartcard across the AVG 3 internal tuners?

Is there more configuration required?

Is CCCam the proper software for this scenario?
Thanks
