I use at this time five dBox2 boxes, all bought via german eBay, one of them has a multicam inside (Sagem Box with NG2) now and one of them (Nokia) i have inserted a harddisk. All have a actual GLJ Image inside and works well.

Okay i think for a harddisk system a Dreambox would be better - but i have payed less then 250 EUR for my complete HD - DBox2 with a 200 GB HD and a 1GB MMC. The MMC fix the flash problem on this box and extend the flash space.

This is the only mistake i found - DBox2 Flash Space is a little to small - if you want install some things together - like lot of Cams / Cardserver / Samba / NFS... without a MMC or SD expansion you will have no chance.

Result: You have enough money and want a new one - use the Dream, you have less money and you'r a little bit a "technical" and you know DBox2 is old and used, you can take this box - its a "working horse" with neutrino :)

Ah... yes, if you a "DBox2 newbie" buy only a box with activated debug mode, i assure you, you will kill your box if you do it allone and you never has done before ;)

Hope it helps.
Fazit: I like my DBox(es) and i will buy i Dream when i switch to HD later, but not now...

If I were you I would go for Dreambox 500 as it is cheap and pretty good when it comes to card sharing. The 500 is pretty cheap now that the 600 and 800 are on the market.

If I were you I would go for a Dreambox 500. It works fine with card sharing and is quite cheap now that the 800 is out.
