On any powerboard image, CCcam is run in debug mode. I still haven't figured out why they choose for this option but as i found out, it doesn't help the stability of the image.

If you want to disable debug mode, here's how to do it.

  1. Telnet to you're dbox2
  2. change directory to /var/init/system/camd
  3. Edit the file called .camd_start (remember the leading dot)
  4. Goto this line:
    if [ -e /var/etc/.CCcam ] ; then
    /var/bin/CCcam -d &
  5. Change it into this:
    if [ -e /var/etc/.CCcam ] ; then
    /var/bin/CCcam &
  6. Save the file
  7. Reboot the dboxII
If you now look at the running processes, you see CCcam is no longer running in debug mode.

You can also disable the server end of CCcam. This will increase speed and reduce memory usage of the dbox. It has one big disatvantage. You no longer have the statistics how many cards there are online and the webinterface is gone.

The way to disable CCcam Servermode:
if [ -e /var/etc/.CCcam ] ; then
/var/bin/CCcam -d &
if [ -e /var/etc/.CCcam ] ; then
/var/bin/CCcam -s &
