Not sure, the debate seems to be out at the moment. It may well work with oonly SD playback, almost certainly not at HD levels yet as the codecs aren't really in linux. There is quite a lot of discussion going on regarding VDR and the HDMI (or whatever the anacronyms are) for the cable.. As to get the cable to need to sign a non disclosure agreement which linux advocates are saying is against the GPL.

Ho Humm..

Which is all to say.. Urm.. no idea, but don't spend your pennies on it yet.

Gentoo Linux - Nexus-s, Linux VDR - 2 x ATSC HD cards, Hauppauge PVR 500 for analog US Cable, 3 x Hauppauge MVP's running Vomp on VDR, UK TV on IPTV.

Not a single sat dish at the moment. :-(

i used to have SS2 and it worked with linux - the problem was the software for linux, almost everything to do from command line at that time (maybe now there is a better solution) - for the HD i know that in windows it worked, i think, but HD with SS2 depends on what graphic card u have...

I think Milleordi was referring to the new Technosat SkyStar card which has HD in the title. From what I read the drivers may or may not work. Linux has moved a long way since just the command line, the two main contenders are Kaffeine (a kde based program) and VDR (A complete PVR solution.) Both can work with Gbox.
