Skystar hd2 vs Dreambox 800 - 19-November-2008, 15:23

Hi!

New here, trying to make up my mind in deciding which receiver to get.

I have a powerful PC and know very well how to use windows, video filters etc. So configuring the PC is not a problem.
What I would like to do is to connect to CS servers and as far as I have read, the gbox is the only realiable way of doing so with skystar hd2. My concern though is that Nagra3 and NDS are not fully compatible with this protocol (unless something has changed). And what about HD channels both free and encrypted...? This is a priority for me.
I know dreambox 800 has not problem handling all the above but I would prefer the cheap (and with better picture) solution offered by skystar.

Thank you in advance!

Nagra3 works on mbox, and new ver (out soon) open HD ch.I'm have Linux ubuntu and VDR + Gbox+SSHD works perfectly. In moment i'm test Mbox on linux and Windows works good.On VDR you have all function;pause program,record,play,.... and best solution for future.Dreambox 800 has not problem but i'm not like this, dm 8000 is "bigest" price, and with better picture .
